My family and I have lived in Avening since 1990, and have close family connections to Cherington going back around 100 years. In 2006 I joined the Avening Parish Council and served as its leader for 7 years. I am still actively involved with the PC and have led multiple small and large projects over the years. Politically, my main interests are in roads, the environment, and planning, and I am currently working closely with the Environment Agency to help resolve issues with a lack of water in our stream through Avening. Having spent my career in financial services, before retirement in 2020, I am acutely aware of the need to resolve the financial crisis at CDC, caused by the Lib Dems reckless spending. They have also taken away any local input to the planning process, potentially letting inappropriate developments through. I feel it is my duty to stand as a councillor to help bring back accountability to these areas, and more.
