Dear Friends,
Happy New Year. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with friends and family. Thank you again to everyone who attended our Christmas luncheon at the Old Royal Ship in Luckington. It was a very well attended and joyous event. Thank you for making it so, and for all of your support throughout 2024. We all look forward to continuing this success in 2025 and hope you will stay involved and also attend other events too, as and when advertised. In addition to the next luncheon in February, I also provide details of the Burns Night Supper in January below.
Our first event of 2025 will be at:
The Greyhound
Ashton Road, Siddington, Cirencester
Gloucestershire, GL7 6HR
Wednesday 12 February (12.30 for 13.00)
We are delighted to announce that our speaker is Chris Nelson, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Gloucestershire, now serving his second term in this role, following successful re-election in 2024. Chris began his career at 18 in the British Army, attending Sandhurst and retiring as a full Colonel. He served operationally in the First Gulf War and on the streets of Northern Ireland. As PCC, Chris has focused on dealing with many key issues; anti-social behaviour, rural crime, tackling male violence against women, and successfully securing funding for 400 extra police officers and staff. Working with his fellow Commissioners in the South West, he is Chair of the Prisoners Building Homes Programme and is Joint National Lead for Performance within the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners and Joint National Lead for Local Policing.
The menu choices are as follows and the cost for lunch is £26:
Main course
Braised blade of beef, bourguignon sauce, grain mustard mash, roasted carrot, or
Pumpkin and sage tortelloni, pear, gorgonzola, walnuts
Desserts
